Republic of the Philippines ASSIGNMENT 1

PALAWAN STATE UNIVERSITY EE 52/D – Electrical Transmission and

College of Engineering, Distribution System
Architecture and Technology First Semester, SY 2020-2021

DIRECTIONS: Present a complete solution for each question in a long bond paper/yellow pad. Please write
legibly and box your final answers. No erasures allowed and solutions/answers must be written on a single stroke
only.

1. The annual load of a substation is given by the following data (from January to December): 8 MW, 6 MW, 4
MW, 2 MW, 6 MW, 12 MW, 16 MW, 14 MW, 10 MW, 4 MW, 6 MW and 8 MW. Determine the average load.
(10 points)

2. A power station has a connected load of 48 MW. The energy generated for the year is 61,500 MWh. If the
station has a load factor of 35%, solve the demand factor of the station. (20 points)

3. The daily load schedule on a power station are the following: 11 PM to 6 AM = 1 MW; 6 AM to 8 AM = 1.75
MW; 8 AM to 12 NN = 4 MW; 12 PM to 1 PM = 1.5 MW; 1 PM to 5 PM = 3.75 MW; 5 PM to 7 PM = 4.25 MW;
7 PM to 9 PM = 5 MW; 9 PM to 11 PM = 2.25 MW. Solve the PCF of the station assuming the generating
sets are having capacities of 1 MW, 1.5 MW, and two 2.5 MW. (30 points)

4. Draw the Single Line Diagram of the Palawan Grid showing the different components of the power system
such as the generation system, transmission system, and distribution system. (30 points)

5. List the different feeders (circuits) that consist the Puerto Princesa Distribution System. (10 points)
