WHAT IS MIHAN
Multi-Modal International Cargo Hub & Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) is the biggest economic
development project currently underway in India in terms of investment. MIHAN is an ideal
business hub, located in the geometrical centre of India and easily accessible to all the metro
cities of India. A final destination for all your business related needs, supported by excellent
infrastructure, easy and fast procedural systems and continuous support and service through one
window operation. MIHAN Project consist of two parts namely International airport act as cargo
hub and Special Economic Zone with residential zone covering a total area of 40.25 sq. km on
southern end of Nagpur. Maharashtra Government formed a special entity in the name of
Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) for development of ​MIHAN.

WHY IN NAGPUR
Nagpur has been distinct location of being situated at the zero mile of India, the only city,
equidistant from all the major metro cities of India. At the same time it is connected to all the
ports and cities by trunk rail routes and highways. Around 600 international flights cross the air
space of Nagpur every day, besides having a busy domestic airport.

BENEFITS OF MIHAN
· ​ With a projected target of serving 14 million passengers and handle 0.87 million tons of cargo
this is one of the largest aviation projects in India.
· ​The airport will have the parking space of 50 aircrafts at any time with additional bays at fringe

areas.
· ​Project is also building a separate cargo complex for handling and transferring cargo to and fro

from airport.
· ​Out of 2086 hectares of SEZ, 1472 hectares reserved for various processing units to set up there

plant and remaining 614 hectares for service sector unit.

· ​Just along the main railway line, rail terminal will capable of accommodating operations of two

trains per day.

· ​Additional facilities in place as container yards, cargo handling facility, custom clearance and all

the related requirements for speedy and smooth operations

· ​Warehouses, dormitory for drivers, cold storage, and first aid are few of the many facilities at the

terminal
·​ ​Two terminals, Rail and Road Terminals, together serve the full load logistics advantage
·​ ​Separate telephone exchange building is being built for telecommunication related infrastructure.

· ​200 MW (4x 50 MW) coal based power plan with a provision of 25 MW Back up diesel

generator.
·​ ​IT Parks​ ​will house BPO, Call centres, data centres, software production houses, animation

studio, etc​. ​Plan to provide world class infrastructure in terms of connectivity, telecom, power,
and water supply at most economical cost.
