SAMAVESH2020

Samavesh2020 which was held on January 18, 2020, was really assimilation of fun,
innovation, hard work, energy, and team efforts of faculty, staff, and students of FIIB. The
whole institute got enveloped in different colors and the overall decoration of the campus was
appreciated by one and all.

Samavesh had a lot of activities where Supply chain management could be observed. One of
such activities was the decoration done for the event.

Decoration was done in two parts:

1. By student volunteers
2. By an external company

Planning of décor
- A budget was allocated. Having this budget, people were contacted for lighting, stage setup
and other things. We received certain quotations and then selected a vendor.
- For the décor by students, a team of 15 volunteers were formed and the planning among the
team started regarding what designs are to be prepared and what all raw material is required.
- After preparing the list of material required, two of our team members went to a stationary
shop in Vasant vihar, but we found it quite expensive.
- Then we decided to buy all the material from Saddar bazaar and nai sarak.
- 3 of us went to Saddar bazaar and ani sarak to buy all the raw material required.

Execution of the plan

- We divided the team in groups and allotted tasks to each group.
- Every group did the tasks assigned to them.
- At the end all the groups sat together and assembled all the designs.
- On 16th-17th jan,2020 we began decorating the campus with all the designs that were prepared.
- The external vendors also did all the decoration on 17th January 2020.

ACTUAL Vs PLANNED

We planned all the designs required and the material to be used. However, some designs later had
to be altered and we had to rush to the market then and there.
This could have been planned beforehand and extra material could have been bought to avoid such
scenarios.

LEARNINGS
 We should keep a buffer stock of stationary and try to plan in advance so that final output
should be better.
