PRESIDENT’S REPORT

November 1, 2010- December 31, 2010

Dear Fellow Students:

PEACE IN CHRIST!

November and December were fast months. The new semester started at the second week of November and all energies were
geared towards the Xavier Days Celebration. Nonetheless, the government managed to engage in a number of issues in and
outside the school. We also rolled out our engagement with the Office of Scholarship and Aid and our community development
program with Habitat for Humanity. As the year ends and a new one begins, we hope that the momentum towards good
governance will continue to grow and bear good fruits.

Academic Development

Book Market The second leg of the Book Market started at the third 2,500 Department of

Engaged Game Show As a traditional Xavier Days event, the CSG took the 9,500 Department of

Student Services
STRAW The Commission has engaged in a major classified case N/A STRAW

administrative board was in favour of the student.
RFID System The CSG has one seat in the committee in charge for the N/A Office of the
implementation of the RFID System. The CSG believes that President
this technology has enabled the university to increase
campus security. However, we still call on the next CSG
Administration to monitor the expenses and the benefits of
this technology.
STRAW Forum The STRAW Commission led the first administration – 3,000 STRAW
student forum in 3 years. The forum was a venue to directly
channel the questions of the students to the administration.
It is in our hope that his exercise will be continued.
SA finalized scope of labor The CSG in its SA Development agenda submitted to the N/A Office of the
proposal submitted OSA its proposed revised SA Policy which incorporated the Vice-President
Bill of Rights of SA, the definition of “scope of labor”, and
the creation of an SAs organization.
Status of Water fountain The CSG made a technical review of the status of all water N/A Office of the

Engaged Citizenship
Xavier Home The CSG in its commitment to be a nation-builder, launched 36,182 Department
the Xavier Home, a house-build project for the Oro Habitat of Mission and

duplex unit. During the Xavier Days, the implementing
team raised a total of 7,000 pesos from donors. A team of

the house.

Extra-curricular Engagement

for three months and classes are scheduled every Saturday.
