"Conforming vs.

Not Conforming to Society's Expectations"

The advantages of conforming to society's expectations are obvious. You will be
widely accepted as the norm and you are likely to be more popular than people who
don't conform to society's expectations.
You can be yourself and do whatever you feel like if you don't conform to
society's
expectations. You may not be as popular as a conformist, but you will probably
earn
more respect for standing out. Non-conformists could actually have more time and
money on their hands for themselves because they don't need to spend time or money
on things that will help them fit in.
I agree with Ralph Waldo Emerson's idea, "Whoso would be a man must be a non-
conformist," because man is free to do whatever he wishes--we're not robots that
are
programmed to imitate. In other words, we have our own individual minds and
personalities and we need to put our uniqueness to work.
