I. General Provisions (Arts. 1767-1783)

Law on Partnership: Arts 1767-1867 of the New Civil Code, supplemented by other
provisions of the New Civil Code on contracts and agency.
Sources: Old Civil Code and two (2) American statutes: Uniform Partnership Act and
the Uniform Limited Partnership Act. Reasons: to fill-in the gaps of present law and they are
more in accord with modern business practices.
Definition under Article 1767 from the point of view of being a contract; includes
