Course: BUSINESS LAW


Course Code: MGT 310
Teacher: Dr. SOHAIB MUKHTAR
Class: BBA-4 (A) Morning
Time: Friday 8:30 – 11:30 Room No.

Introduction
The component is designed to give students a thorough grounding in Business Law. The course will
cover the law of contract, which involves the study of legally binding agreements. The fundamental
rules concerning the formation of a contract, the legal effects of its terms and its discharge will be
critically examined. Later the focus would be shifted to law of Bailments, Agency and Sale of Goods. The
course will cover the mutual obligations of a principal and agent, formation of contract of sale, passing
of property, rules of delivery and rights and obligations of the sellers and buyers. This course will
reinforce the fundamental concepts that will be helpful in other modules such as in Business and
Commercial law, Labor and Employment Law etc.

Learning Objectives
At the Conclusion of the Course, Students will be able to:
1. Understand law and types of law.
2. Understand applicability of general principles of Business law.
3. Understand principles of Contract, Sale of Goods and Labor Laws.
4. Understand Contract and its types.
5. Understand capacity of parties to contract and free consent of parties.
6. Understand valid, void, and voidable contracts.
7. Understand concepts and principles of Bailment, Agency, Indemnity and Guarantee.
8. Understand Sale and Agreement to Sell.
9. Understand rights and duties of seller and buyer.
10. Understand Collective Bargaining Agent.
11. Understand types of workers in a Business Entity and their Compensation in case of accident.
12. Demonstrate working knowledge of Business Law.

Class room Conduct


1. Late arrivals are not welcome.
2. Early departures are not allowed.
3. You must turn off your cell phones or any gadget that disturbs the sanctity of the classroom.
4. Intellectual discussions including mundane gossip in class is not allowed unless permitted.
5. Taking notes are imperative in order to pass the class.
6. You are responsible for the contents of the lectures you missed.
7. Please refrain from asking irrelevant questions.
