 mTera PDU Kit with 12-60A Breakers (part number C71MPDU12)

If the PDU (82.71020H) is not ordered as a kit, the circuit breakers are ordered
separately and field installed.

 mTera Nano PDU w/ 6-60A & 6-30A Breakers (kit part number-C71MNPDU6X6)

 Any industry standard PDU that provides frame level circuit protection meeting
input voltage range requirements of -40.5 VDC to -60 VDC, 60A per feed

 The 7100 Nano supports the 82.71020H PDU beginning with FP6.0
The mTera PDU supports six A-side breakers and six B-side breakers.

Each breaker position is capable of supplying up to 60 A service to power the mTera

shelf and 30 A service to power a Nano shelf which may be co-located in the same
rack.

The mTera PDU front panel includes 14 LEDs to indicate equipment status.
Breaker positions for the C71MNPDU6X6 with mTera installed in the Higher
Rack/cabinet position
 Every shelf comes with an NE Alarm Panel

 Contains NE Status LEDs for Critical, Major, Minor status

 This panel is directly connected to the SDM (Shelf Display Module)

 Each shelf has six power feed terminals (three A power feeds and three B feeds)

 Power feeds connect the shelf to the power source

mTera UTP shelf contains three power zones

 Two STPMs are required for redundancy. The common modules in slots 21-23, 26-
28 and 33 load share power distributed from the equipped STPMs (slot 24 and 25).

 Zone 1 powers four port modules (slots 1-4), two MFABs (slots 8 and 9), one
STPM/Common (slot 24), and two Fan modules (slots 29 and 30). The mTera UTP
power terminals 1A and 1B supply power to zone 1.

 Zone 2 powers four port modules (slots 5, 6, 7 and 16), two MFABs (slots 17 and
18), one STPM/Common (slot 25) and two Fan modules (slots 31 and 32). The
mTera UTP power terminals 2A and 2B supply power to zone 2.

 Zone 3 powers six Port modules (slots 10-15) and two MFABs (slots 19 and 20).
The mTera UTP power terminals 3A and 3B supply power to zone 3.
The Fiber Management Unit is installed below the Switching Module slots.

All facility fibers are routed into the Fiber Manager Unit. Supported fiber routing
methods are Split Routing, Paired Diversity, and Intra-shelf:

 Split routing is when the port modules on the left (Slots 1 to 7) are routed left, and
modules on the right (10 to 16) are routed to the right

 Paired Diversity is when working and protect fibers are deployed in adjacent
"paired" modules. For example, fibers for the port module in slot 1 enter on the
left of the shelf and port 2 enter on the right

 Intra-shelf primarily applies when optical modules are being deployed on the shelf
and the "Express" ports are being routed between degrees
Four FAN modules (part number 81.71F-MFAN) are required per shelf.

Fans have multiple speeds based on ambient temperature and acoustic emission
limits which are determined by the STPM software.
One Air Filter (part number 81.71A-MFLTR) is required per shelf. Each shelf is shipped
with an Air Filter.

The Air Filters are in-service replaceable units that should be replaced every three
months.
The 81.71F-MFAN module has two LEDs that report Power and Fault.

 POWER - green when both -48 V power feeds are operational; amber when only
one -48 V power feed is operational; off when no power is applied

 FAULT - off when no power is applied; green when no faults are detected on the
module; amber when the module is in a degraded state or there is no air filter
installed; red when one or more fan
component has failed within the module

 The fan modules are designed for variable fan speeds. The STPM controls the fan
speed, retrieves the fan status, and retrieves the fan filter status for the fan
module within the shelf. Fans run “fast” when one or more of the fans fail or are
not powered.

 The system also sends a fan alarm message if the Fan Module is removed (FAN
UNEQ) or if the fan is powered but stops (FAN FAILED).

 If both STPMs are removed after the system has been turned up, the fans in that
shelf run on high until system software has been basic commissioned (past the ED-
NE command). The fans return to normal operation after the STPMs are reinserted
and the system software is initialized (this can take up to 10 minutes from the time
of insertion).
