Trip to the Petrosains, Science Discovery Centre

Last week, Science Club of SMK Seri Seroja organised a trip to the Petrosains in conjuction with the
Science Week. The trip was joined by the thirty-five students and escorted by two teachers. Petrosains is located
inside the Petrosains Twin Towers. It took about forty-five minutes to arrive there from our school. Each person
was charged RM15 as an entrance fee.
After purchasing the entrance tickets, we queued up for the iconic Dark SIDE. We set in a carriage that was
supposed to be shaped like a drop of oil. During the ride, we listened to a short documentary about the history of
petroleum. The guide explained to us on how petroleum was formed thousands of years ago and how it extracted
today.went to the Geo
Then, we went to the Geotime Diorama which displayed realistic models of prehistoric creatures and
provide information on geology and seismology. It centered on an elaborated volcanic landscape. The most
interesting part of the trip on an elaborated volcanic landscape. The most interesting part of the trip was the
simulator ride on a helicopter. It felt as though we were flying in a helicopter over the sea towards the oil rig. We
had a captain explaining to us all about the oil rig while being on the ride.
The Petrosains, Science Discovery Center use fun and interactive approaches to tell the story of science
and technology. We were able to see and join countless exhibits and activities with a hands-on learning experience.
The trip gave us scientific discoveries and inspiring activities.
