you written feedback along with guidance on what you must
undertake to demonstrate satisfactory performance. Re-assessment
attempt(s) will be arranged at a later time and date. You have the
right to appeal the outcome of assessment decisions if you feel that
you have been dealt with unfairly or have other appropriate grounds
for an appeal. You are encouraged to consult with the assessor prior
to attempting this task if you do not understand any part of this task
or if you have any learning issues or needs that may hinder you when
attempting any part of the assessment.

Procedures

1. Review the assessment scenario, the business documentation, including policies and
procedures.

2. This task requires you to facilitate a team meeting (take turns with other students to play
the Project Manager) to design a physical environment which supports innovation and to
support the provision of learning opportunities to team members.

3. Prepare for the team meeting:


o Research information about the impact of the physical environment in relation to
innovation.
List three ways the physical environment can positively or negatively impact innovation
in a team.
o Research and select a resource that you can share with the team to provide
information about how to create a physical environment which supports innovation.
o Identify and list two (2) formal and two (2) informal learning opportunities to help the
team develop the skills needed for innovation.

4. Schedule a time with the trainer and assessor in week 5 of class and facilitate a team
meeting to support building an innovative project team.
 Duration: 90 minute
 All students will have to take turns in facilitating the meeting.

5. The trainer and assessor will evaluate your performance during the meeting (Role-Play) and
provide feedback on the marking sheet.
6. If you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to make alternative arrangements with

 Complete the preparatory work as instructed in Task 3.1
During the meeting
 Discuss how the physical environment may support innovation and share the information
you researched in Task 2.1 II.
 Collaborate with the team about ideas for enhancing the physical work environment,
considering the potential for supporting innovation when selecting physical resources and
equipment.
 Design the ideal workspace with the team
 Discuss your ideas to provide informal and formal learning opportunities to develop the skills
needed for innovation (Task 2.1 III).
 Agree on two(2) formal and two (2) informal learning opportunities for the team and
develop an action plan to implement them.

Although the assessment requires group collaboration to simulate a work environment, the
assessment submission is individual, and it will be marked as such.

Task 3.2 Team Meeting

Schedule a time with the trainer and assessor in week 5 of class and facilitate a team meeting to
support building an innovative project team.

Duration: 90 minutes

 All students will have to take turns in facilitating the meeting.

The trainer and assessor will evaluate your performance during the meeting (Role-Play) and provide
feedback on the marking sheet.

If you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to make alternative arrangements with the trainer
and assessor to perform the Role-Play.
