SUMMARY

Overall, our research has shown that there was a greater number of mentions about ‘Patient
recruitment’ and ‘Patient retention’ when COVID-19 was included in the search during the timeframe.
This could be due to the current climate of clinical trials and finding a vaccine for COVID-19.

The online mentions covered recent developments in drugs, treatments for specific diseases,
and an emphasis on market growth in certain blogs and news articles.

The overall emotion expressed in the online mentions was joy. This could be due to recent
developments the industry has made. However, there are still feelings of fear displayed online
and the overall sentiment was neutral. This suggests that there are still worries and concerns
around the topic of ‘Patient recruitment’ and ‘Patient retention’.

There was a lack of mentions of ‘Patient retention’ in the results. This could suggest there is more
focus on patient recruitment within the industry, and patient retention is overlooked.
