PROJECT PROPOSAL

SYNOPSIS:-
This project focuses on Business Process Improvement (BPI) which means a singular initiative or
project to improve the alignment and performance of a particular process with the organizational
strategy and customer expectations. BPI includes the selection, analysis, design, and implementation
of the (improved) process.

Process improvement involves the business practice of identifying, analyzing and improving existing
business processes to optimize performance, meet best practice standards or simply improve quality
and the user experience for customers and end-users.
Process improvement can have several different names such as business process management
(BPM), business process improvement (BPI), business process re-engineering, continual
improvement process (CIP), to name a few. Regardless of the nomenclature, they all pursue the same
goal: to minimize errors, reduce waste, improve productivity and streamline efficiency.

STEPS TO IMPROVE BUSINESS PROCESS

Step 1 – Understanding the process you want to improve.

Step 2 – Finding out improvements for the process.
Step 3 – Implementing the improvements.
Step 4 – Executing and monitoring the improvements.
And the improvement so done should be continuous.

Businesses across industries are leveraging image analytics to find innovative solutions for their
challenges. They are embedding image analytics across value chains to improve outcomes ranging
from reduced stock outs to faster claims assessments. The technology is also an authentic data source
that can be used to create robust personalized marketing campaigns.

GOAL TO BE ACHIEVED THROUGH IMAGE ANALYSIS

It is easier to express a moment as a picture than in words. Pictures capture more information and
require less skills and effort than writing. The human brain processes visual content more quickly.
The project will accomplish this by image analysis. By leveraging image analytics, companies are
now tackling such challenges efficiently in the following ways:

 In-store operations are effectively monitored and tracked using shelf images to get real-time
key performance indicators such as share of shelf, on-shelf availability, stock outs, pricing
changes and compliance metrics

 Field sales representatives are able to cut down time spent in conducting manual store checks
by using image recognition technology, and are expanding their store coverage and tackling more
critical issues at stores.

By providing real-time, accurate in-store insights, image analytics is becoming the game-changer in

optimizing retail execution and recovering lost sales. So this is who the project will bring value to
the company.

PROPOSED METHODOLOGY

The present research work is based on :

 PRIMARY DATA ANALYSIS- which includes (i) Coordinating with the industry mentor with
regard to status of the project and rechecking of the developed report. Amendments in the
report have to be done in case of any requirement as per his suggestions.

(ii) Documentation for the same reports.

 SECONDARY DATA ANALYSIS- Which includes-(i) learning of required coding skills and
responsive behavior through software JUPITER.
(ii) PYTHON programming language.
(iii)Few required software and different online libraries.

PROPOSED METHODOLOGY:

 The process of understanding the objective of the business and preparing a

requirement of image analysis.

 Gaining knowledge about the responsive behavior of the softwarejupiter and the
required coding skills forthat.
 Gaining knowledge about the language that will be python programming
language.
 Learning of how to use different programing for different different images.
 Installation of the required softwares and learning different libraries used.
 Coordinating with the industry mentor regarding the status of theproject.
 Getting the developed report rechecked by the industry mentor and make
changes and fix issues ifrequired.
 Documentation for thesame project.

Week 1 Understanding the entire ideology of
the company and the way it works and
learnt all the required languages for the
Project like python and different
libraries.
Week 2 Understanding about different images
and process them in python.
Week 3 Working of those images used in
process improvement.
Week 4 Prepare document of the whole project
and its outcome.
Week 5 and Week 6 Working of who those images lead to
business improvement and company
accomplishment..
Week 7 Add all the essentials documents that
is needed for the project.
Week 8 Wrap up the tasks and submit
