Uplifting Individuals and Families out of Crisis

A Collective Impact Initiative serving Northwest Georgia.

What is Healthy Foundations?

Healthy Foundations, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit organization and is an initiative of North Georgia Healthcare Center.
Healthy Foundations is a Collective Integrated Healthcare initiative designed to meet the integrated primary health, behavioral
health, and social needs of our community - in our community. By integrating care through collective, community-based
partnerships, individuals and families are more satisfied with their care, more accepting of care, and ultimately demonstrate
improved quality of life.

Is Healthy Foundations a Drug Rehab or Mental Health Treatment Facility?

Healthy Foundations is a wellness community for individuals and families to receive holistic support in their journey to self-
sufficiency. We assess every individual and family prior to admitting them to the campus for fit within our program. While we will
provide counseling for behavioral health issues such a depression, ADHD, PTSD and similar conditions within our admitted
residents, we will refer mental health treatment to the appropriate licensed facilities. This is the same for substance use disorder.
Less than 15% of our space on campus is designed for servicing substance use disorders and behavioral health counseling.

Where will Healthy Foundations be located?

Healthy Foundations will be funded by private individuals, Federal and State agencies, private foundations, corporate partners,
individual donors and capital campaigns. The operating expenses will generally be funded by fee-for-service insurance
reimbursements, state and federal government contracts, and earned revenue opportunities offered by on-campus conferences,
events, dining facilities, etc.

What will be the economic impact of this project?

A primary objective of Healthy Foundations is to create positive economic impact in the community by: 1) creating employment
opportunities; and 2) transforming individuals, who would otherwise be a financial drain on community resources, into
contributing members of society who hold consistent employment.

walking trails, laundry facilities, staff housing, and an industrial kitchen and dining facilities to serve residents, staff and visitors.

All applicants will be assessed for their individual service needs. Those who are identified as “ready for change” will become
clients, based on availability, and are provided case management throughout their journey.

How will you make sure the campus and community are safe?
We’re partnering with Gentec Cyber Security, an international leader in security systems. Deploying their geofencing and radio-
frequency identification technology, we will know where each individual is 24/7 and that they remain in various zones to
participate in programming. They will also use tag readers and facial recognition technology connected to state databases to
screen everyone coming to the campus. This is the same type of tracking technology currently used by the City of Atlanta and
Clemson University.
