Chapter 1

The Problem and Its Setting

Introduction

Plastic is the general common form for a wide range sued in huge, growing range of

applications and the most common problem in our environment. Plastics are used because they

are easy and cheap to make and they can last long time. Unfortunately, these same useful

qualities can make plastic huge pollution problem. The production of plastics has increased

markedly over the last 60 years. It also causes so many problems that each one of us can be

harmed. However, current levels of their usage and disposal generate several environmental

problems.

Soil pollution is caused by the presence of hand-made chemicals. It is typically caused by

industrial activity, agricultural chemicals, and improper waste disposal of waste. A plastics has a

huge impact on our environment. It has several ways on how it will affect us. Plastic does not

decompose, and requires high energy ultra-violet light to breakdown.

Segregation of plastics may help minimize the soil pollution. From the “Segregate”-

means to separate from others by group. So we can know wat product can be recycled or not.

When w segregate plastics, we can help our environment little by little. It may be simple but it

can make a big difference and recycling is the best way to make plastics become useful.
