Task and Activities – Reflection (February 10-February 14, 2020)-Week 5

- We were tasked to make decorations for Valentine’s Day for the Coca Cola Big Convention
Center in preparation for the event of Coca Cola Bingo "Sa Araw ng mga Puso" and Barbeque Night for
the employees. It is important for the HR to organize events like these in order to build employee relations
and this event is an example of one of the benefits of working in the Coca Cola Company. Having good
employee relations is crucial to every company, as when employees and managers share a positive
relationship, employee engagement, productivity, motivation and morale are high. Employees who get
along with their manager and enjoy rather than feel anxious about going to work in the morning have a
better overall work experience. Happy employees work harder, produce better work, and ultimately keep
the customer happy and the business thriving.

- We recorded the certificate of compensation payment/tax withheld document of the Coca Cola
employees and made sure that we were able to spot that all the CTC numbers and signatures were
complete. This document contains employee information, employer information and details of
compensation income and tax withheld from present employer. This task is a part of the Compensation
facet of HR and is an example of one of the important documents that are needed when dealing and
tracking compensation of the employees.

- We recorded the performance evaluation document of the Coca Cola employees and it had the
same grade codes of evaluation as the critical success factors and initiatives to develop document. The
performance evaluation document contains critical success factors strategic initiatives, their unit of
measure, and the evaluation code reflecting their achieved result. It was not until I started being an HR
Intern at the Coca Cola company that I was exposed to performance evaluation documents in this
particular format that I am not use to seeing before. This method of performance evaluation has a
quantitative approach. The results achieved by the employee in a given period are considered. The
objective is to identify if the employee being evaluated met the expectations of the company. Because this
is based on numbers, this assessment is more secure and assertive. Evaluations are a mechanism to
provide feedback and documentation about an employee's performance through a defined time period,
and can provide clear communication of job expectations and goals.

- Our HR supervisor allowed us to accompany her as she visited around the Coca Cola Company's
different office divisions and handed out gift certificate consumables to some of the Coca-Cola
employees. This task is part of the benefits facet of HR and deals with the benefits that Coca Cola
employees receive in working with the company. Appreciation and gratitude mean so much to employees,
and the truth is that reinforcing good work is what is inspires them to keep it up. Giving public praise is
another great way to show recognition while also inspiring the rest of the team. Rewarding the team
properly is what cultivates a culture of appreciation between employee and manager, ultimately inspiring
employees to continue to work hard for themselves and for the benefit of the company
