Remove dead skin scales and callus, and
decontaminate the peri-wound skin – ideally
with wound cleansers to prevent re-colonisation
– at every dressing change.

Debride the wound

Remove necrotic tissue, slough, foreign
bodies and biofilm at every dressing change.

STEP THREE

Refashion the wound edge

Refresh wound edges to remove tissue that
could harbour biofilm. Ensure the continuation
of skin edges with the wound bed to facilitate
wound contraction.

STEP FOUR

Dress the wound

Address residual biofilm while preventing
