Recuitement process in space x

Elon Musk rarely hires non-US citizens to work at SpaceX — due to us national security reasons

According to Business Insider, who interviewed a former SpaceX employee,

1. Teams in HR pour over piles of resumes.

2. Then applicants have two to four phone screenings to see if they are qualified for in-person
interviews.

3. Candidates who make it through those four phone conversations are brought to the SpaceX
campus for a full day of interviewing with "everyone who might work with them."

4. Interviewers talk to candidates in pairs where they are "grilled" in seven to eight one-hour
interview sessions.

5. Halfway through, they get a break for lunch and to take a tour of factory. The second half of
interviews then commence.

6. If even one person expresses doubt at any part in the process, the interview comes to a halt
and the applicant is immediately sent home.

Candidates have said that they have been asked puzzles and riddles during interviews. It is
interesting to say that Elon Musk doesn’t require you to come from an Ivy League college. As
quoted:

His thinking: Some of the world's best innovators have accomplished great things without
graduating. Musk has pointed out that Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Google co-founder Larry Page all
lack college degrees. "If you had a chance to hire them," he has said, "of course, that'd be a good
idea."

Employees who are being hired are the best in their group but have to have the right positive
mindset in order to be a collaborative person.
How SpaceX market their
space products and services

As a leading commercial aerospace company founded

to provide affordable space transportation services and promote faster human colonization of
Mars, SpaceX is involved in the development of a range of spaceflight products that include:

1. Space launch vehicles for launching spacecraft

2. Rocket engines that are used for the propulsion of spaceflight vehicles

3. Space capsules designed to be used in the transportation of humans from Earth to Mars and
back

4. Reusable launch vehicles designed to reduce the cost of human spaceflight

SpaceX also offers various space-related services, which includes cargo resupply missions for NASA
to the International Space Station. The company is also involved in the NASA’s Commercial Crew
Program, a soon to be launched program that will help to carry human crews to the ISS.

Commercial space launches are all about launching satellites - typically for communications and/or
remote sensing.

Typical customers are national space agencies and commercial satellite operators.

SpaceX is also, uniquely as a commercial entity, providing NASA with cargo delivery and return
to/from ISS.
Target customers
SpaceXs target customers are companies that need satellites put in orbit. That is companies like
ViaSat, SES, OrbComm, Iridium etc. But these customers make business decisions based on cold facts
of price, reliability and confidential data, so why all the show?

In the longer term SpaceX hopes to generate enough excitement for space to be able to make
humans a truly spacefaring and multiplanetary species. But really the excitement is there it is just
that the price needs to come down, this was what Elon Musk realized that made him start SpaceX in
the first place. A lot of us who was disappointed with the progress of space travel have become
excited once again now that spaceX shows that it may be possible.

Space x target market

At the moment, SpaceX’s target market is focused on governments and some private companies.
However, their ultimate goal is to one day serve all of mankind.

At the moment, SpaceX has only conducted a limited variety of missions: orbital satellites, cargo
missions to the International Space Stations, and sending Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster to Mars.

The aerospace firm has run these missions for a much wider variety of clients: governments,
militaries, and private companies. However, these won’t always be the only people SpaceX will be
serving.

SpaceX one day plans to serve the entire human race, through a multitude of grand operations.
SpaceX has been very vocal regarding their proposed missions to Mars, and the effects of a Martian
city will be felt amongst humans everywhere.

There are many obvious benefits which could sprout from a Mars base: there is the fact that humans
would finally have a backup plan when catastrophe strikes Earth, the trickle down benefits from a
space program of this magnitude, and the stepping stone Mars provides for an extraterrestrial
humanity.

Not to mention, the colonization of Mars will require a powerful rocket which will be very useful to
have in our species’s toolkit.

The BFR will not only be the most powerful rocket in all of human history, but it will also be the most
efficient. The full reusability of the rocket will allow the same rocket to fly to and from Mars, and
also brings us the possibility of serving humans on Earth similarly to airplanes.

Imagine flying to Hong Kong from San Francisco in less than an hour!
Finally, there’s Starlink, a project to connect humans around the globe.

The widely followed SpaceX project is what the company describes as a “satellite constellation.”
SpaceX intends to use these satellites to provide Internet to the entire world.

Additionally, SpaceX could expand their network of satellites to accommodate equipment for data
collection and Earth imaging. The market for these services has been on the rise in recent years, and
could provide those industries with immense benefits.

SpaceX is shooting for the stars, and you can be assured that I’m rooting for them.
