The Idea: According to some studies, approximately 43 million housing units rented out in United States
of America in 2019. The number has been growing gradually over the years and is expected to keep
growing in the coming years. While there are apps that provide for potential tenants to find flatmates
and to find a rental property, there exists a gap in the tenant – landlord communication. Just like any
other service industry, the services being provided in the room or flat and the landlord can be bridged
by an app which rated by the tenants.

While there are many apps to find rental properties like Zillow, Apartments.com, Rent.com etc

Opportunity: Renters have both great and bad experiences that they would wish to share with future
tenants of the house. This will also help the future renters to easily identify a property they would wish
to occupy. Landlords with great facilities would also find renters faster. There is a gap here that can be
bridged by an app which caters to this demography.

Discovery:

Problem Statement: The tenants are ill informed about the property and the landlord when they are
moving in. Some problems are not apparent when seeing the property initially and sometimes becomes
apparent as time passes. Any unanticipated problem causes problems for both renter and owners. The
legal contracts enforced makes it difficult to move out of the property as well. On the other hand, the
great properties and cooperative owners usually have higher rent, making it difficult for them to find a
renter fast. This can cause them loss of income. The renters would also be missing out on a good
experience.
Defining a Solution: For tenants and landlords to have a smooth, conducive and easy interaction during
the length of contract, there should be a feedback mechanism for the landlord and the property. An app
that lets tenants to rate the property and the landlord when they leave the property. They can rate each
room, appliances provided, landlord cooperation etc.
