Murdoch University
To Whom in May Concern
Murdoch

Dear Whom it May Concern at Murdoch University,

I am writing to you to apply for the position of Meet Murdoch Team Officer at Murdoch University. With my extensive
experience in networking, marketing, and public speaking, as well as client relations, I believe that I am an excellent
candidate for this role.

My considerable experience in sales, public speaking, student relations, and the education sector gives me valuable
insight into the necessities of the role. Additional, my varied background, including my prior roles within hospitality both
within Australia and abroad, allow me to approach tasks with a unique and successful approach. Specifically, my current
position within MeridianOne relates incredibly well to this position. The core purpose of my work within the organisation is
to convert prospective clientele into genuine enrolments within MeridianOne’s education program. My conversion rates
are generally extremely favourable, averaging 91%. Given my familiarity with very similar roles, as well as my significant
experience in other client-focused positions, I am well suited to the fulfil the obligations of a Meet Murdoch Team Officer.

In my role at the Australian College of the Arts, I worked with students directly, standing at the front lines of the
institution’s interaction with those it taught. This position, in particular, taught me a great deal about the wants, needs,
and motivations of students, and how to influence them for the better. Additionally, my position at Take Eight
Productions as an Event Coordinator allowed me to learn the best ways to interact with clients, stakeholders, and my
team at large. As such, I am an excellent team player, always willing to put maximum effort and contribution into any
given task to ensure overall success. Given the excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills these
and my other past roles have given me, I will be more than up to the task of being the Meet Murdoch Team Officer that
you need.

Of course, at first, my hospitality experience might not seem as though it would augment my ability in the open role.
However, my time abroad further increased my understanding of how to take initiative responsibility. On top of this, it
gave me a better understanding of people, which I will be able to use to improve my capacity and success in this position
as well.

Additionally, I believe that I would be an excellent fit for Murdoch University as an organisation. Much like Murdoch, I am
passionate about playing a part in shaping the future of our community, and our nation through education and
innovation. Murdoch’s ethical approach to a better world, as well as the institution’s rich and vibrant community culture,
is something in which I would be glad to take part. I have always stood behind the values of integrity, inclusion, respect,
and excellence. It brings me great pleasure to know that these values, as well as sustainability and global responsibility,
are a part of Murdoch’s core principles.

With passion, focus, and an insightful approach that only years of experience can create, I believe that I have the skills,
knowledge, and drive to excel in this role. If you would like to discuss my application further, please do not hesitate to
contact me.

Sincerely,

Colby Weir
