ABM student shines during their SEMINAR-WORKSHOP

In accordance with DEPED Guidelines, Accountancy, Business and Management

students must fully attain the competencies in their proficiency. In their specialization subject
this year, Fundamental of Accountancy, certain topics are in need of concern to discuss briefly.
For that reason, “Seminar-Workshop on selected topics in Fundamental of Accountancy,
Business and Management” was commenced and held on October 11, 2017 at ONHS E-Library.

First and foremost, this program was spearheaded by Mrs. Sarah Jane Fetalvero, ONHS
ABM adviser and the same time, the subject teacher of the specialized subject of ABM students.
Moreover, with the aid of SHS focal person and coordinator, cooperative teachers, event
committees, speakers, and by the approval of the principal; this program was successfully
conducted and manned accordingly. First, it was formally started by invocation prayer by Trexia
Bantang and followed by the singing of the national anthem instructed by Glendale Faeldan.
Right after that, Mrs. Fetalvero utter her warm greetings to each in everyone, for the precious
students who is the center of the event and for the speaker who exerts effort to be present too.
Also, to inspired and motivate everyone, Mr. Cruzaldo Fetalvero(SHS coordinator) together with
Mr. Bebot Fetilo plays their significant rules in inspiring everyone.

In this activity, 42 jubilant students were participated and comprised the exact number of
ABM. They were thoroughly prepared bringing themselves in the program and have-on
executive attire seemingly like a real professional. Looking great! Handsome and elegant! They
were the stars of the event. Apart from, five good-looking speakers were also present and they
have their valuable task to take part of. Coming from different designated offices, they were the
real professional namely Mrs. Shane Fetalco, Mr. Gary Vanz V. Blancia (SHS faculty Teacher ),
Mr. Dennis Dalisay,CPA (LBP Account Specialist), Mr. Apolinario Baladjay Jr. ( BIR, Revenue
Officer I) and Mrs. Nimpa Manzo, ( Book Keeper/Account Specialist) respectively.

On the topic “Leveling of Expectation”, discussed by the first speaker, Mrs. Fetalco, she
figures out the things needed in the activity. She utters that students need to listen attentively,
participate in a unison manner and pose question to speakers in order to meet the level of
expectation. After all, it was indeed a reminder to each in everyone. Right after that, Mr. Blancia
take part his task on the topic “Code of Ethics and Professionalism in a Workplace” which
certainly help the student to enrich their knowledge toward their immersion in the next month.
Mr. Blancia, on his amazing twist, he had able to change the environment from a quiet into a
joyful one. Overall, Mr. Blancia’s discussion toward his topic is an indeed manifestation and
assurance of valued learning he embarked to the students.

Furthermore, to go beyond in the most exciting part of the program, Kyle Fallaria (ABM
Student) takes his part to introduce the next speaker. Looking forward, he is Mr. Dennis Dalisay,
Certified Public Accountant who worked at Land Bank of the Philippines. With his degree of
knowledge, no doubt that everybody was listened peacefully. Faces from the students are seems
to be happy. Mr. Dalisay briefly discussed about Bank Statement and Bank Reconciliation which
is part of ABM competency. His expertise dwell the students to understand the topic and molded
as a big picture in their mind. After that, students were challenged to execute their learning and
made a bank reconciliation statement which answered correctly. Then, Mr. Apolinario Baladjay,
the next speaker discussed about BIR Forms and Tax Updates. “ We should pay appropriate
taxes” he concerned first. Different forms were presented and he explained it briefly. Right after
him is Mrs. Manzo discussed ” Accountable Forms” within the business. She presented the
business forms and explained it simultaneously. Altogether, their talk is a meaningful one and
indeed a big contribution in shaping one’s future ahead student chosen strand.

Different aspects of their competencies have developed in one for all benefits. Significant
learning’s were embarked, valued and obtained in which students are facing the real world
situation. This program is really an instrument of how deep their knowledge in the year’s they
spend in Senior High.
