CHAPTER III

Methodology

Research Design

The research design to be used in this qualitative research is a Semi-structured Interview

with open-ended questions among the respondents which are the Senior High School Students

and the Junior High School Students from Trento National High School to provide the

researchers responses that are explicit and not rehearsed or practiced. The results will be then

analyzed and compiled by the researchers to determine the perception of students with their

learning environment concerning the textbook equipment shortage.

Research Procedure

The researchers will visit two sections in Junior High School and two sections in Senior

High School from Trento National High School. They will select 10 students from each section

and provide them the questionnaires. The researchers will then gather the answered

questionnaires and compile the data for analysis and discussion within the group members.

The perception of students with their learning environment concerning textbook

equipment shortage will then be acquired by the researchers.

Research Locale
The researchers chose the Secondary School, Trento National High School situated at P-

3, Poblacion, Trento, Agusan del Sur where the research would take place. The school has Senior

High School students and Junior High School students with 3,753 students in total.

Research Instrument

The research instrument is a Semi-structured Interview among the Senior High School

students and Junior High School students that will consist of more than five open-ended

questions.

SHORTAGE QUESTIONNAIRE

1. Are you a Junior High School Student or Senior High School Student?

2. Does your section have insufficient quantity of textbooks/learning materials?

a. How many students do share the same textbook/learning material?

3. Do you find textbooks/learning materials essential in school for your learning? Why?

4. Do you think textbooks/learning materials are effective equipment for learning in the

school? Why?

5. Do your teachers provide visual aids to resemble the textbooks/learning materials?

a. If yes, does it disturb your focus in learning? Are you able to comprehend your

lessons well?

b. If no, does it bother you that you have to share with other students instead of

having your own textbook/material? Why?

6. Are you one of the students who don’t have their own textbooks/learning materials?

a. If yes, do you have difficulties coping up with the lessons without

textbooks/learning materials?

b. If no, in what way do you cope up with the lessons?

7. What can you suggest for the improvement of the issue textbook equipment shortage?
