1.) Probe - It is the act of investigating or inspecting something to gain knowledge about them or a certain
topic they excel in.
-physically explore or examine (something) with the hands or an instrument.
2.) Ponder – It is the act of reflecting and contemplating about something or someone.
3.) Random – It is defined as something unplanned or out of context.

II.
My mother asked me to do something random today and that is Driving the car. She also asked me to
probe into something that was confidential to my brother. I was pondering if I will tell her what I found
out about the thing she asked me to do.

III.
From what I remember, Inquiry refers to an understanding that research is iterative and depends upon
asking increasingly complex or new questions whose answers develop additional questions or lines of
inquiry in any field. Inquiry is similar to investigating something, yet you have to see. In inquiry, we
basically probe into someone or something by asking questions about what they already know. Research,
however, the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts
and reach new conclusions. It is more methodological and systemic and makes you discover something
new unlike inquiry which you just probe deeper into something already known.

II.
1. Personally, I think inquiry is easier because it only needs you to probe deeper into the topic, it doesn’t
necessarily require you to discover new. Research is harder because I need to follow many more rules.
2. If you do everything randomly in research, you will not attain the desired outcome if the research
because the quality of the study will be severely affected. The lower the quality of the study, the less
credible the study will be, and the study will be thrown into waste. Your research will be doubtful, and
no scientist or researcher will trust it.
3. Inquiry and research can come together. We will use inquiry in gathering information about something
that is needed in the research.
4. Yes, there have been a lot of countless times in which I apply both inquiry and research in my daily
life. By just asking questions, I guess that is already an inquiry. I’ve always wanted to learn how to
drive so I asked my father how to drive but he cannot answer me directly because I need to actually try
it. the basic act of asking my father is already inquiry. We were practicing for a month on how to learn
to drive and later on I learned how to do it. I guess plainly that way is already research.

PERIOD 2
I.
Research and inquiry are the same because they both seek information. There differences is that research
needs studying the material to reach new conclusions and inquiry obtains information through asking
questions.

Exercise
I. Digging the Mind
1.) Who ate my peanut butter sandwich? - Inquiry
2.) I recently heard a rumor that margarine tasted better than butter for my fried toast with cheese.

3.) Will we go to church next Sunday – Inquiry

II. Thinking touch

This morning, I was baking 9 slices banana cakes for me and my siblings. I gave my baby brother
3 slices and my other brother another 3. I kept 3 slices for myself. After a while my baby brother got
furious because he just received 2 slices. That’s why I questioned my other brother if he took my younger
brothers’ piece of cake and yes he admitted it. The method I use to obtain the answer was through inquiry.
I’ve been really curious if plants even though are not placed under the heat of the sun will still
have a dry soil after watering it in the morning and checking it in the early evening. Cause usually the soil
if the plants placed under the sun easily dry down. So, I checked it through experimenting and checking
both surely. I watered the at the same time and I place 1 pot under the sun and the other one in a shaded
area. They are both the same an avocado seedling and both have the same container, Wilkins bottle with
the same 5 holes. Later in the early evening, when I checked the dryness of the soil is the same. The
humidity is the same and that made me more curious asto why.
