antibacterial activity of momordica charantia flower extract with

honey against k pneumoniae

Synthesis
Multinational Clinical Studies shows that the antibacterial activity of honey is
significantly more than antibacterial and antimicrobial potency of hydrogen-peroxide.
Multiple Asian studies also shows that, the honey’s potency against various aerobic and
anaerobic, gram positive and gram-negative bacteria depend on its geographical and
botanical source. According to (Masoud E. A. and Alamin M. A.) the efficacy of honey
against bacterial growth also correlates to its different concentrations. On the other
hand, Momordica Charantia shows potential efficacy against tested organisms with
16.16 mm ± 2.17 SD, and 15.88 mm ± 2.24 SD average zone of inhibition respectively.
The extracted active constituents exhibit broad spectrum of antibacterial activity,
specifically Plumericin which demonstrates antibacterial activity against 8 pathogenic
bacterial strains. According to Kumar et al. (2010) the fruit powder in the form of an
ointment showed significant response in terms of wound healing ability.
