All applicants for recertification need to earn at least twelve (12) credits for a year or

thirty six (36) credits for a period of three (3) years to substantiate their request for re-
certification. Credits can be obtained from any of the following:

A. Membership (Not-profit professional security association). Supporting Document Required (SDR)


 Membership in good standing in PSIS- 3 credits per year
 Membership in other security organization – 2 credits per year

B. Educational Program and courses. SDR


 Attendance at other annual security convention/seminar/conference – local or
International 3 credits/year
 Attendance at regular monthly membership meeting of PSIS – 1 credit / meeting
 Attendance and successful completion of PSIS/PNP sponsored security courses – 2
Credits / course
 Attendance at recognized security courses, workshops, conference sponsored by
Other security organizations -2 credits / course
C. Service rendered as Board Member of Officer of a security organization. SDR
 each year served as an Officer of the organization – 3 credits / year
 each year served Board Member of the organization – 2 credits / year
 each year served committee member of the organization – 1 credit / year

D. Speeches, Instructions and other Program Participation. SDR


 Each appearance as instructor, seminar or workshop leader at PSIS and other
Security organization’s education programs – 1 credit /seminar / lecture
 each presentation as a panelist in PSIS and other security organizations – 1 credit /
Seminar
 Regular instruction in a security topic at in-service training or seminar – 1 credit /
Seminar
 Guest instructor or speaker on a security topic at annual security seminar /
Conference / workshop sponsored by PSIS and other security organization – 1
Credit / hour taught

E. Publish Articles and Other Literary Contributions. SDR


 Each security article published in security publications and other national publications
– 2 credits / article
 Authorship of security books / booklets / manual – 10 credits / book /booklet /manual

F. Others. SRD
 Especial accomplishments in the field of industrial security upon determination by the
Professional Certification Board (PCB) – 1 – 3 credits per accomplishment
 Certificate of appreciation / citation / commendation received in connection with his/her
outstanding work / practice of the industrial security profession – 1 credit /certificate
 Special recognitions from private or government security organizations – 1 -3 credits /
recognition.
