Steps :

1. Introducing shapes
 Before the class begins, draw shapes in the board, those shapes are triangle, rectangle,
pentagon, hexagon and circle. Don’t forget to put the name of the shapes too. To
make it easier you can also make some flashcards, with the picture of the shapes in
the front flashcard and the picture including the name of the shapes behind.
 When the class begin, for the warm-up ask the students to sing together a nursery
rhymes entitled “Shapes Song” by Cocomelon, https://youtu.be/uaUnTxoF4hU
 While singing the teacher also pointed at the drawing that has been drawn before or
the flashcards provided, for example, when the lyrics sounds “What shape is this?
What shape is this? What’s the name of this shape?” teacher pointed at one of the
shape.
 When the lyrics “It’s got three sides, it’s got three corners, What’s the name of this
shape?” teacher also shows and pointed to the sides and corners of the shape to makes
the students understand which one means by the sides and which one means by the
corners and how much sides and corners a particular shape has.
 When the lyric sounds “It’s a Triangle!” the teacher shows the name of the shape in
the board or by flip the flashcards.
2. Identifying shapes
 Teacher provide a worksheet with the picture of the shapes
 Then the students are asked to color a shape according with what the teacher
mentioned using crayons. For example the teacher gives instruction “How many
triangles can you find? Color them blue” then “How many circles do you see? Color
them red” and so on.
 After done with the worksheet, the teacher can collect the worksheet to check the
student’s understanding on shapes
3. Playing with shapes
 Teacher provide various shapes with various color paper.
 Put students in pairs and give each pair the shapes.
 Then the students are asked to make a Mr. shape head craft
 Circulate as everyone is doing the activity and ask questions for example "What is
this shape?", "What is this?"
