•  Methods  of  locaGng  the  LOI

–  If  the  planes  overlap
•  Select  two  lines  in  one  plane  that  intersects  the  other
plane.  Find  the  corresponding  piercing  points  and
connect  them  to  construct  the  LOI
–  If  the  planes  seem  to  not  overlap
•  Assuming  that  the  planes,  as  defined  in  geometry,
extends  in  all  direcGon,  non-‐parallel  planes  will
eventually  intersect.  Use  a  third  plane  to  find  the  LOI  of
the  two  original  planes.

Summary

•  LOI  is  applied  in  problems  that  involves

intersecGng  planes
•  Non-‐parallel  planes,  whether  overlapping  or
not,  can  have  LOI
•  The  correct  visibility  should  always  be  drawn.
•  The  visibility  of  the  line  is  determined  for  each
plane  individually

For  revisions

•  Discuss  the  case  wherein  one  of  the  planes  is

fully  overlapped  by  the  other  plane
•  Discuss  the  possibility  of  not  finding  a  piercing
point  when  a  plane  is  chosen,  should  check
