Cyclist pant pattern tracing

by Maria Elena Garcia Guanaguanay on December 30, 2010

This type of garment is made with elastic fabrics such as cotton lycra or lycra, which have great
elongation. Once the fabric is ready for cutting, calculate the elongation of it to subtract it from the
measurements, you can see How is elongation calculated?

NECESSARY MEASURES

CC = Waist circumference - elongation

CK = Hip contour - elongation
LT = Shot length How is shot length taken?
CP = Leg contour
Total length

PAPER FOR PATTERN

A piece of paper that is 15 cm higher than the Total Length and 15 cm wider than the Hip Contour. You can
mark the middle by folding the fold. The pattern will be drawn with the spread open.

SEAM MARGINS AND HEMS

1 cm for seam joints
3 cm for hems
For the waist edge, what is necessary depending on the elastic that you are going to use.

PROCESS
 Draw a horizontal whose measure is 1/2 CP, mark points 1 and 2
 Find the midpoint of the Boot Line, mark Point. 3.
 Making a square at Point 3, draw a perpendicular whose measure will be the Total Length, mark Point

Making a square at Point 4, draw paths perpendicular to the sides with the measure of 1 / 4CC, mark Points 5
and 6.
 From Point 4 down take measurement LT, mark Point 7
 Making a square at Point 7, trace perpendicular paths whose measure will be 1 / 4CK, mark Points 8
and 9.

From Point 8 to the left, extend the line by 3 cm, mark Point 10.
From Points 5 and 6 go down auxiliary perpendicular paths towards the CK line, mark Points 11 and 12
 From Point 11 up the auxiliary line go up 13 cm, mark Point 13
 From Point 12 upwards along the auxiliary line go up 8 cm, mark Point 14
 From Point 5 down the auxiliary line, go down 2 cm, mark Point 15
 From Point 6 down the auxiliary line, go down 4 cm, mark Point 16
