Directions: Select at least 1 (one) of any inventions on the different historical

antecedents in the course of science and technology (Ancient Period, Middle Ages, and
Philippine Inventions). Illustrate, draw, or paint the invention which you desire to select.
At the bottom of your illustration, make a description about the invention by answering
these questions.

Paper money. The first use of paper money can be traced back to the
year 806 AD in China where they were used as “flying currency” because of the
usage of letters of credit transferred over large distances. Traders and merchants
eventually realized the huge advantage of using paper money because it was
easier to transport around compared to the previous forms of currencies.

The idea of assigning value to a marked piece of paper did not immediately
become popular. In fact, when the Mongols attempted to introduce paper money
into the Middle East market in the 13th century, it did not gain immediate success.
Nonetheless, traders and merchants eventually realized the huge advantage of
using paper money because it was easier to transport around compared to the
previous forms of currencies. It was easier to carry around and the copper and iron
could be saved for use in everyday objects. Advantages of paper currency are that
it’s easy to use and cheap to produce and can be created on demand.

Activity 2

Directions: If you were an inventor, what would you invent? In a paragraph form,
answer the question comprehensively. In thinking about an invention, make sure that you
come up with one that has not been invented yet but is possible to be invented in the near
future.

If I were an inventor, I would invent a time machine.
