1. The first word that enters my mind when I heard the word engineering is design.

For me,
engineering is a kind of field where understanding in science and mathematics were applied. This is
where Engineers made their own design, invent, and build things according to what is needed and
required. This is the field where development happens like development in machines, buildings,
roads, bridges even in industrial development and medicine. Engineers figure and find ways on how
things work easily and use scientific discoveries in a more practical way. There is a lot of engineering
branches such as industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and many
more. Each branch have their own role and function. In simple words, engineering is the field of work
where Engineers applied their learning in science and mathematics in order to solve real life
problems.
2. Industrial engineering is one of the branches of engineering that was concerned with the
production, efficiency of the workers, quality of the products as well as the services. Moreover, it also
concerns with the health and safety of the workers, the safeness of the environment and the
workplace. This field was the one who evaluates the cost, time, workers, and materials. Their work is
to eliminate the waste in the production and speed up the process of making the goods or services.
Some industrial engineers made the design of something to upgrade the machine or facility. In
addition, industrial engineering was very wide and broad. Engineers must be familiar to a lot of things
such as operating an equipment, using of tools and materials, knowing of work processes in order to
create or design a new process that helps the industry to function well.

3. I expect that I will learn a lot of things about the background of engineering. As well as this subject
or course will provide me the best learning that I can attain for me to grow personally as an
engineering student. I also expect that my teacher will help and guide me to a better understanding of
my chosen course. I'm hoping that my professor will educate me and that education will have a
significant role to overcome my weaknesses and to manifest the best version of myself.
