    EQUIPMENT DATA SHEET - SPT (NICOLAS)

    Based on the success of the SPT (Self Propelled


    Trailer) concept developed by ALE, Nicolas have
    introduced SPT’s with integrally mounted power
    packs and additional enhanced features.
    Drive axle units can be operated independently or
    assembled into any combination. The units
    overcome the need for ballasted heavy duty prime
    movers, which improves manoeuvrability and
    flexibility of use.
    Optimum applications include the on-site
    movement of bridge units, pre-assembled
    piperacks and structures requiring adaptable
    support conditions, but not the high carrying
    capacity of Self Propelled Modular Transporters
    (SPMT’s) Self-Propelled Trailer—NICOLAS

    Key features of the NICOLAS SPT system


    include:
    • 45 degree steering.
    2 FILE UNIT (DRIVE AXLES SHOWN) • Adjustment of the running height of 1075 by
    Carrying Capacity = 24.5t / Axle +325mm / -240mm.
    • Fully self powered for movement in any
    direction.
    • Multi-axle, high torque, drive units to
    maximise tractive effort.
    • 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 8 axles driven using multi
    speed drive ratio.
    3 FILE UNIT • Multiple platform width options.
    Carrying Capacity = 36.75t / Axle • Multiple power modules capable of being
    inter linked and readily replaceable.
    • Remote or local control options.
    • 3 or 4 point hydraulic suspension
    capabilities.
    • Compensation of cross falls and changes in
    gradient.
    4 FILE UNIT • Maintenance of a level and balanced load.
    Carrying Capacity = 49t / Axle
