Alton Brown was born on July 30, 1962 in Los Angeles, California to Alton Brown and
his mother whose name is unknown. Alton’s father committed suicide when Alton was at the age
of twelve, his mother remarried later. When Alton got older, he attended the University of
Georgia in the early 80’s for five years but was unable to earn his bachelor's degree. Alton’s first
jobs were both as a camera man and pizza delivery boy whenever he was in college. He would
eventually receive his diploma in 2004 when the curriculum changed, and college credits were
re-distributed. Brown saw the cooking shows of the day and found them boring and he wanted to
find a better way to engage the viewer and teach them about the science of cooking. Alton went
to take culinary classes at the New England Culinary Institute and graduated in 1997. Brown
then pursued his vision by creating the cooking show of the day boring, so he created the show
“Good Eats” to educate people about the science and technique behind cooking. Brown married
his first wife and “Good Eats” producer Deanna Brown and had one daughter, Zoey Brown.
They divorced in 2014 and Alton remarried to Elizabeth Ingram in 2018 and they currently live
in Marietta, Georgia with their two corgi’s and iguana named Spike and Matilda the mixed
Basset Hound.  
 
Alton Brown has worked on and hosted many cooking television shows over the years
from when he first started out in 1999 and he is continuing to appear on television shows today.
He started his cooking and television career with the successful show “Food Eats” that showed
the viewer about science how it incorporates in cooking. The show would run on the air for
twelve years and it would make him a prominent celebrity chef in the food and television
industry, bolstering his career. “Food Eats” would also help him win the Peabody Award in 2006
and he would be nominated for The Best TV Food and Journalism award. He would be the
commentator of the 2004 show “Iron Chef America: Battle of the Masters” and would
commentate the four seasons of its spinoff show “The Next Iron Chef”. Alton would come out
with his third Food Network show Feasting on Asphalt in 2006 where he would travel the open
road in search for great food restaurants. Brown would also participate in the eighth season of
“The Next Food Network Star” and he would appear on other television shows such as “The
Myth Busters”. In 2013, he would host another show called “Cutthroat Kitchen” where 4 chefs
would have to compete with 25,000 dollars to bid during the competition, taking the rest of the
money with them. Brown is planning to reboot the series “Food Eats” for 2020 and wants to
improve on the show that got him where he is today.   

Brown would take well many well-known and popular dishes such as beef wellington,
pizza and green bean casserole and always find a way to perfect them. He is always working on
making well known dishes and making them ten times better. He usually stays active on social
media answering question and showing his food recipes to those who want to make them
themselves. He finds himself eating a lot of sardines and eats them when he gets the chance.
Alton Brown has endorsed food products and commercial's such as Welch’s grape juice, General
Eletric, Dannon yogurt, Shun knives, and Heifer International and Colgate. Brown has several
interests and has shown enthusiasm towards motorcycling and flying planes, both of which he
owns several of. Brown also enjoys to scuba dive with his family. He is an author of many
cookbooks, winning the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Cookbook for writing “I’m
Just Here for The Food” becoming the bestselling cook book of 2002. His most recent of nine
cookbooks is “Everyday Cook” As of 2016, Alton Brown has a total net worth of thirteen million
dollars. Brown has taken tow culinary food tours that have sold out all around America and in
Broadway. The “Alton Brown Trio” has released several albums including a holiday album. He
always is seen on television wearing a bowtie and he owns over two hundred. Brown s crated
miniating food concepts that would help bud his name in the Food Network and in the Food
industry over all. Alton’s creative ideas and fun concepts would make him stand out among his
fellow chefs and his 20-year experience on the Food Network would help bolster him to fame.
