construct the sentences I want to say.” obtained a moderate to strong level of

correlation (p=.000, r=.635). This suggests that most students who perceived

that they have a satisfactory grammar knowledge also performed outstandingly

during the speaking test which further implies that grammar plays a vital role

in proficiently speaking English as one cannot properly construct sentences

without grammar knowledge.
