Question 1 :

A golf store pays its wholesaler 2,000.00 for a certain club, and then sells it to a golfer
for 3,750.00. What is the markup rate?

Question 2 :

A product is originally priced at 2750.00 is marked 25% off. What is the sale price?

Question 3 :

A product is marked down 15%; the sale price is 6373.00. What was the original price?

Question 4 :

A sells to B an item at 15% profit. B sells the same item to C at 20% profit. If C pays
74,520 for it. What is the price at which A bought the item?
Question 5 :

If good are purchased for 1500.00 and one fifth of them sold at a loss of 15%. Then at
what mark up rate should the rest be sold to obtain a overall mark up rate of 15%?

Question 6 :

By selling 20 articles, a trader gained the selling price of 5 articles. Find the mark up
rate.  

Question 7 : 

A person wants to get 20% mark up rate after selling his object at 20% discount. Find the
required percentage increase in marked price. 

Question 8 :

The selling price of 10 articles is the cost price of 15 articles. Find profit or loss
percentage. 

Question 9 :

On selling 20 units of an item, the profit is equal to cost price of 5 units. Find the mark
mark up rate.  

Question 10 :

Difference between the cost price of two products is 500.00. Difference between the
selling price is 1,000. If one is sold at 20% profit and other one is sold at 20% loss, find
the cost price of each product.

Solve the following on the space provided:
1. If an operations manager employee who earns P542,400 per year, what is the monthly
salary?

Given: Annual Salary = Php 542,400
Monthly Salary = Annual Salary ÷ 12
= Php 542,400 ÷ 12
=Php 45,200
Thus, the monthly salary is Php 45,200

2. What is the gross pay for an accounting staff who works a total of 52 hours during one
week in a position that pays P480 per hour? Take note that the daily working is 8 hours
and the overtime rate is 135%.

Solve the following on the space provided:


1. An appliance salespersons commission rate is 7.9%. If the commission of one of the
washing machine is P410.80, what is the purchase price of the washing machine?

2. Laarni Santiago earns a commission of 11.7% on all the sales she makes. She has a total
of P90,000 in sales last month. Find the amount she earned in a month.
3. An agent received a commission of P56,935 for selling a car worth P965,000. What was
her rate of commission?

4. Geraldine Briones sold her house and lot through a real estate agent for P2.6 million.
The agent charged 8.4% of the sale price for his services. How much was her commission?

5. Francis Nicolas is paid a basic salary of P20,000 a month plus 9.5% commission on all
sales made. Compute for his gross earnings if he made total sales of P185,000.

6. Celeste Saron a salesman, is paid 2.5% commission on the first P12,000; 3.5% on the
next P15,000 and 6.5% on all sales over P25,000. Last month, her total sales were
P64,000. Find the total commission.

7. Annie Espineda, a sales representative, receives a monthly salary of P23,000 plus 3% on


all sales over P1 million. What were her total earnings during the month of December if
her sales amounted to P1.6 million?

8. JoeffreyUy received 10% commission on the product he sold plus 2.5% commission of
the sales made by the representatives under his supervision. If his sales amounted to
P28,000 and the sales made by his 18 representatives amounted to P73,000, how much did
he earn?

9. Uzziel a salesman receives a semi-monthly salary of P10,300 plus a commission of


4.5% of monthly sales. Find his gross earnings for the month of November if his sales
were P200,000.
10. A salesman on a certain boutique was paid a commission of 7% on his sales. If his
sales were P12,000 on Monday, P13,000 on Tuesday, P14,500 on Wednesday, P10,000 on
Thursday, and P15,000 on Friday, find his total commission.
