For over 40 years, Everest Re Group is a top reinsurance and insurance company in property &
casualty. Everest Re Group traces its roots back in 1973 as Prudential Reinsurance based in
Hamilton, Bermuda. It was a subsidiary of Prudential Financial as its reinsurance arm. Prudential
Financial, the former parent company of the organization holds its position as the largest

of $904 million & net loss after tax was $639.4 million ($15.73 per common share. In the
previous year of the hazard, Everest gained a profit of $295.4 million ($7.06 per share) in 2016.
As of 2016, the company reported that the reinsurance segment provided 70% of its premiums &
the remainder is from insurance. The total premiums of that year were the US $6 billion.
