Date: 6 January 2020 Time of Lesson: 2:35pm-3:55pm

1. PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE AND OSERVATIONS

Students have basic use of marking tools (S). Their motor skills are improving immensely (S). From
observation students have struggled with using the chisel (S)(K).

Students have been just introduced to using the chisel before Christmas holidays (S), students
seemed to have a good grasp on using the chisel but seemed to struggle with their stance (K)(S).

This was due to:

 Difficulty acknowledging their preferred stance/position while chiseling

 Lack of previous knowledge.

2. LESSON RATIONALE

Brief outline of approach for lesson KEY*

As students had difficulty with using the chisel, a recap and questioning will be exercised to RL
reinforce safe and efficient use.
Stance and grip will be reinforced to strengthen motor skills through a demonstration.

As students seemed to have a wide range differentiation in class, students ahead of others RL
will be asked to add design to the back of their scissor rack.

Students will be introduced how to line up two pieces using dimensioning and showing that NL
simple forms can work best sometimes.
