COURSE This course deals with the study of blood as a tissue and the pathophysiology of the cellular
DESCRIPTION elements of the blood. Emphasis is on laboratory diagnostic procedures.
CREDIT UNIT/S 5 units (Lecture: 3, Laboratory: 2)
CREDIT HOUR/S Lecture: 3 hours (54 hours per sem.)

PREREQUISITE Biochemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology
COURSE CILO 1 Explain the facts and principles of hematological determinations.
INTENDED CILO 2 Differentiate microscopically the normal and abnormal blood cells.
LEARNING CILO 3 Correlate hematological tests to pathologic conditions.
OUTCOMES CILO 4 Perform hematological tests with precision, accuracy and reliability.

interpretation of test results.

COURSE This course will be delivered entirely online through the course management system
STRUCTURE CANVAS and support apps like EDMODO and ZIP Grade. You will use your student account
to login to the course from the CANVAS. EDMODO AND ZIP GRADE Login Page. If you

FB page to do so.
In CANVAS, you will access online lessons, course materials, and resources. At designated
times throughout the semester, we will participate in a blend of self-paced and group-paced
activities using and/or alternative Internet-based technologies. Activities will
consist of chat, blogs, discussion forums, email, journaling, blogging, wikis, and web posting.
