1. Match the following adjectives and write below the meaning in Spanish.

Note: Adjectives ending in '-y' like happy, pretty, busy, sunny, lucky etc. replace the -y
with -ier or -iest in the comparative and superlative form

IRREGULAR COMPARATIVES AND SUPERLATIVES


These adjectives have completely irregular comparative and superlative forms:

3. Complete with a comparative adjective and all the necessary words.

a. It´s too noisy here. Can we go to a quieter (quiet) place?

e. I was more nervous (nervous) in my exam yesterday than Mark.
f. I´d like to have a faster (fast) car. The one I have now is really old.

4. Complete the sentences using the following adjectives in comparative

5. Write the Superlative form. Look at the examples.

6. Complete the sentences writing the adjective in bold in superlative form

Example: It’s a very interesting book. It’s one of the most interesting books I’ve ever read.

 He´s a very good footballer. He is the best footballer in Europe at the moment.
 She´s a pretty girl. She´s the prettiest girl in my class.
 January is a cold month in Spain. It´s usually the coldest month of the year.
 I was very happy when I got married. My wedding day was the happiest day of my life.
 This is a really bad film. It is the worst film I´ve ever seen.
 We saw an ugly dog last night. It was the most ugly dog we´ve seen.
 I think this is an expensive restaurant. It must be the most expensive restaurant in town.

7. Fill in the blanks with the comparative or superlative form of the adjective in parentheses.
Where necessary, add “the” before superlatives and “than” after comparatives.

8. Use the comparative or the superlative according to the sentence

 These instructions were the most difficult (difficult) ones I have ever read.

9. Write comparisons to describe two places in your country. Use comparatives and
Superlatives.
