TEACHING - LEARNING APPROACH

PART I. SITUATION
The job of a teacher requires beyond what is expected of his/her simply
because teachers are eminent example of a total person. The society has high regard
for teacher’s role in the betterment of our country as a whole.
The Department of Education aims that “education must continue” where
school teachers serve as front liners pursuing to endure education amidst the
pandemic. Different learning approach have been implemented which sets for the new
normal education. This is to extend the possibilities to cater classes that education will
not halt for this school year despite the incurable covid-19 that the world is facing
right now.

PART II. FINDINGS AND INSIGHTS


With our country’s educational system pursuing the new normal education is
far from reality since most of our school’s insufficient facility and technology to push
through online classes and modular learning is uncertain and debatable.
With (1) poor internet connection and (2) unable to provide smart
phones/tablets for online learning, (3) huge number of papers for modules
reproduction, (4) reaching learners from hinterlands for modular learning: these are
only few risks and problems that our school teachers are facing right now.
However, DepEd aims to pursue that education must continue to whatever it
may take. Different teaching approaches were realized to apply in different
circumstances. As implementers, school teachers tailored these approaches in any
ways and means to continue classes, reaching out learners, and making education
sustain and possible.

PART III. SUMMARY


Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this study is to determine the roles of school teachers as
front liners during the pandemic and their efficacy in the new normal education. It
also seeks to provide solutions to the evident problem that the teachers are facing right
now.

Findings and Insights


This study finds that the school teachers have the biggest role in the
implementation of the new normal educational program. With the full support of the
government and society, education will standstill over this pandemic.

Research Limitations
In lieu, the study stressed on the idea that the higher office in the education
system should carefully address the scope and limitations in implementing the
different teaching approaches and should provide all the necessities to push through
with a realistic outcome as well as provide education program that are attainable and
realistic in our country.

Reflection
The education system of the Philippines has been trying their best to cope up
with the demands amidst the pandemic. The big responsibility lies here are within the
teachers since they are tasked to carry out and implement such curriculum or program.
