To Install and Configure ShoreTel Communicator

Open the Windows Start Menu. Type “software center” into the search bar, and press enter, or click the
Software Center link on the start menu.

You will be taken to the Fresenius Kabi Software center. It contains pre-approved applications that you
can install without administrative privileges.

You can use the search bar in the upper left hand corner, or just scroll down until you see the ShoreTel
Communicator software. Click the ShoreTel icon. On the next screen, click install.
The application will install in the background. In may take a few minutes. When it is finished installing,
you will be prompted to reboot. If possible, reboot now, if not, the application will still function at a
limited level until you reboot your PC. It will ask you to log in again, the next time you boot up, if you
don’t reboot first before continuing to the next steps

Launch the program from the new Icon on your desktop:

Next you will need to configure the application for first time use. Click Next> on the screen below
On the next screen uncheck “Use windows credentials”. Use the following information to log in:

Server name = 10.43.112.121

User Name = Your first initial and last name (example Bob Smith = bsmith).

Password = changeme
You will then be prompted to enter a new password. The new password needs to be at least six
characters long and is case sensitive. Enter the password in both boxes and click next.
Next you will need to enter your voicemail password (If you haven’t already set up voicemail on your
phone). Your voicemail password has to be 4-8 numbers. Enter the password in both boxes and click
next.
The next screen describes recording your voicemail (If you haven’t already set up voicemail on your
phone) . Read the instructions and click next
You will now see the playback and recording controls. They will control the speaker and microphone in
your phone. For less background noise, pick up the handset while recording.
When finished recording click next. On the last screen you can choose whether you would like
communicator to automatically launch every time you log into windows. If you do not check the box,
you can launch the program by clicking the Shoretel Icon on your desktop. Click Finish once you have
made a choice. If you frequently work outside of the office, you may not want to have ShoreTel
Communicator launch automatically. It won’t harm anything, but can make your startup process a little
longer.
After you click finish, you will be able to use communicator. There is a small pop up window letting you
know you can launch a menu of options by clicking the ShoreTel Icon in the upper left corner. Click
anywhere in the window to make the pop-up disappear.
