Region III
DIVISON OF MABALACAT CITY
I. Introduction
We encounter numbers in our daily life that can be use in dealing in real life
situation. Using divisibility rules effectively help learners to look at numbers
with greater understanding.
In these Learning activity sheet, you will learn about divisibility that will help
you understand numbers better. It also serves as your guide to master the
lesson that focuses on the divisibility rules in finding the common factors of
a number. If mastered it will be easier for you to find the common factors of
numbers without using calculator or without actual performing division.
III. Objectives
After going through this Learning Activity Sheets, you are expected to:
1. use divisibility rules for 3, 6, and 9 to find the common factors of numbers;
2. classify numbers as divisible by 3, 6, and 9; and
3. post the corresponding number in the correct place.
1
IV.Discussion
If you were chosen to set up the covered court, what would you do?
Would you go ahead and try to make rows of 3, 6, and 9?
Using the divisibility rules for 3, 6, and 9 will help you find the factors of a
number by just examining the digits.
Given: 180
9÷3 = 3 = 60
+
180 is divisible
117 is by 3
divisible by 3
It is possible to set up by 3
2
Divisibility Rule for 6: a number is divisible by both 2 and 3
Is it divisible by 3
Divisible by 3
180 ÷ 3 = 60
1+8+0=9÷3=3
180 1 + 8 + 0 = 9
sum
9÷9 = 1 = 60
Question: After using the divisibility rules, would it be possible to set up the
chairs by 3, 6, and 9? Why?

Other Examples:
To get the factors of 36, divide 36 by 3, 6, and 9. The divisor, quotient, 1, and
the number itself are the factors.
36 ÷ 3 = 12
36 ÷ 6 = 6
36 ÷ 9 = 4
To get the factors of 54, divide 54 by 3, 6, and 9. The divisor, quotient, 1, and
the number itself are the factors.
54 ÷ 3 = 18
54 ÷ 6 = 9
54 ÷ 9 = 6
Therefore, we have:
Factors of 36: 1 3 4 6 9 12 36
4
Factors of 54: 1 3 6 9 18 54
