Zesa Press Statement
During these past three days, prophets of doom have not stopped at anything to
throw missiles at Dr Gata and in clear acts of paid hatchet-men, some news
reporters have been at pains to scandalise our Executive Chairman with the
Dr Sydney Z Gata
obvious backing of some dismissed elements that are yet to prove their purity at
an altar of an internal hearing that has been set for them to answer to corporate crimes that have in themselves bled ZESA to the wilt.
Before the appointment of Dr Gata to the position of Executive Chairman for the fourth time, employees in ZESA had been reduced
to destitution as past executives never bothered to care for their welfare as they only ensured that they corruptly continued to selfishly
pack their feeding trough with excess loot into their tummies.
It is quite clear and mind boggling that a series of newspaper reports that are aimed at dragging the good name of Dr. Gata in the mud
are coming from some elements that have been suspended from the organisation and are trying to divert attention from their wrong
deeds. We urge our Executive Chairman not to be swayed from making them face the music and should take decisive steps to dismiss
them.
We would like to take this opportunity to advise the nation in no uncertain terms as workers, we are solidly in support of Dr Gata and
any attempts to subvert his vision of transforming the business of ZESA would not be taken lightly but would attract a national
uprising in solidarity with his pro-worker and nation stance.
Under his leadership since his appointment in November 2019, Dr Gata has made the following distinguished successes to his sleeve:
OUR FINAL PLEA TO THE MINISTER OF ENERGY AND POWER DEVELOPMENT HONOURABLE F. CHASI
AND HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZIMBABWE CDE EMMERSON
DAMBUDZO MNANGAGWA IS TO GIVE DR GATA A CHANCE TO TURN AROUND THE FORTUNES OF
ZESA AS WE THE WORKERS ARE ABSOLUTELY HAPPY WITH HIS SELFLESS LEADERSHIP AND VISION.
HAD IT NOT BEEN OF THE CORONA PANDEMIC, WE WOULD HAVE STAGED A SOLIDARITY MARCH TO
PROTECT OUR LEADER FROM BEING HARMED BY CORRUPT AND FIRED MANAGERS WHO WERE
FINGERED IN THE FORENSIC AUDIT.
