Technological Park (Obidos)

 Architects: Jorge Mealha
 Year: 2014
 Location: Outskirts of Óbidos, Portugal.

Design Concept
 The design strategy proposes increasing as much as possible the green surface.
 A place where landscape is determinant for the spatial structure.
 Interesting public spaces called “Terreiros” (a kind of large free spaces in Portugal’s
countryside).
 These flexible spaces allow small communities to organize traditional events, informal open-
air markets, religious processions, music concerts and traditional activities or games.
 The “terreiros”, were in fact quite effective public spaces despite its often form-less borders.
 The design decision focused a large public space as a complement of the natural
landscape.
