Coaches/Players/Game Workers
• Face coverings are required if social distancing is not possible (coaching staff and other
bench personnel required to wear face coverings, scorers table personnel must wear face
coverings)
• Essential personnel at scorers table include: timer, home and visiting team scorer
• Suspend handshakes prior to and following the contest
• Do not supply water bottles/cups or towels for shared use. Each athlete is responsible for
bringing his/her own water. No shared water stations, coolers, etc.
• Reduce the number of people traveling when possible (recommendation: dress fewer
players)
• Head coach from each team will attend pre-game conference using social distance (no
players)
• Create separation between the bench areas and spectators (spectators should sit on the
fourth row and higher behind team area)
• Cheerleaders will be required to wear masks/face coverings

Basketball Modifications for Officials

• Referee only will attend pre-game conference with each head coach. Maintain social
distancing when communicating
• Officials not required to wear jackets during pre-game
• Eliminate the jump ball and award the visiting team the first alternating possession for the
throw in
• Official may stand 6 feet or greater away from player making the throw-in and bounce the
ball to that player on all throw-ins
• The lead official shall stand on the end line and bounce the ball to the free thrower during
free throw administration
• Black neck gaiters shall be worn and be used when social distancing is not possible
• Gloves are permissible (clear)
• In lieu of signing the book, the referee shall give the scorer a 3x5 index card with the names,
and officials number for each crew member
