Summary of Progress

The total length of the project is 80.000 Km from km. 0.000 to km. 80.000 with total
cost Rs. 139.50 Cr (One Hundred Thirty Nine Crores & Fifty Lacs). Appointment date of EPC
contractor is 23rd May 2014 and scheduled date of completion of construction is 21st May 2017
(with 730 days of construction period), which is provisionally extended up to 31st October 2019).

Cumulative physical progress is 94.83% against scheduled progress of 100%.


Financial progress is 94.64% Total progress of DBM layer is 78.808 km. BC work is done up to
76.047 km. GSB and WMM are done for 79.95 km and 79.95 km. respectively. The point of
concern is out of 43250m. of drain in the scope, 29320 Mtr Drain completed till date. Balance
13920mtr yet to be constructed.

On the head of utility shifting, the progress at the site is not so satisfactory. Shifting of
W/S Pipe line is completed but Electrical line shifting of 1.000 Km is still balance which is to be
removed.
Now, the project highway is almost encumbrance free and available for the
construction excluding 1.000km.
There are 13 nos of culverts and 2.570 km road widening (from 7.0 mtr to 10.3 mtr)
are coming under change of scope and Change of Notice has already been submitted to
contractor.

The Executive Engineer Charbatia has approved the provisional EoT up to 31.10.2019 vide letter
no. 3178 dated 09.08.2019 and The contractor has to submit the details in prescribed formats to
Authority.
Current Issues & Recommended Actions by Authority’s engineer
1. Slow Progress by the Contractor: Contractor has to expedite the progress of work by
providing extra man power and required machineries.

2. Lack of monitoring for Utility Shifting: The concerned Authority (CESU) is not quite
serious for utility shifting.
a. Recommendations: Extra efforts may be made in this regard.

3. Safety provisions and Road maintenance: The EPC contractor has not maintained the
road safety of diversion and construction zone and road maintenance of existing road.
a. Recommendations: Immediate action required by EPC contractor to meet the
contractual obligation. The proper safety precaution is required at the site to avoid
any mishap to the public as well as to the construction workers.
