Why do we need to study the Seerah?

Allah chose Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬out of all mankind so


there must be something special about him
that we should be curious to know. To get the correct
understanding of
the Quran

“None of you have faith until I


am more beloved to him than To perfect our Iman as
his children, his father, and all loving him is part of it.
of the people.” And to love someone,

Why do we need to study the Seerah?

‫يعوا ْٱل ََر ُّسو َل‬ ‫ط‬


ِ َ ‫ٱّلل وأ‬
َ ْ ‫ا‬ ‫و‬‫يع‬ ‫ط‬
ِ َ ‫يـٰٓأَيُّہا ٱلََذين ءامنوا ْأ‬

O’ believers, obey Allah and obey the messenger

Allah’s Love

forgiveness

ُّ ‫ك ۡم ُّذ ُّنو َب‬


‫ك ۡم‬ ُّ َ‫ٱّلل َو َي ۡغ ِف ۡر ل‬ ِ ‫ٱّلل فَٱ ََت ِب ُّع‬
ُّ ‫وِن ُّي ۡح ِب ۡب‬
ُّ ََ ‫ك ُّم‬ َ ‫قُّ ۡل إِن كُّن ُّت ۡم ُّت ِح َب‬
َ ََ ‫ُّون‬
Say,If ye love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.
Why do we need to study the Seerah?

By learning Seerah, we get to know the Sunnahs and


Knowing when we act according to Sunnah, we get rewards
Seerah is a
source of
rewards
The more
we know,
the more is
the reward

Doing something in Sunnah way can make an ordinary action,


worthy of reward. e.g; wearing right shoe first is Sunnah
Why do we need to study the Seerah?

To get examples and guidance for different


situations in our life…..

Called Qahtani, a descendant of Ibrahim A.S who is originally from Iraq came to
Nuh A.S named Qahtan. His son Makkah and left his son Ismael to live there.
Ya’rab came to Arabia and Ismael’s descendant is Adnan which is why they are
started living there called Adanani

Ibrahims A.S travels from Ur (Iraq) to Harran

On opposition from his father and his


people Ibrahim A.S left his homeland with
his wife Sarah and nephew Lut A.S.

They traveled to Harran and then later


moved to Palestine to convey Allah’s
message

Ibrahims A.S travel with Hajira and Ismael

On Allah's command Ibrahim left his wife Hajirah and


baby son Ismael in a barren valley of Makkah. At that
time nobody lived there.

Allah S.W.T helped Hajirah with


the spring of Zam Zam.

Makkah grows in Population

After some time, a tribe, Jurhum, came and started


living there with the permission of Hajira.

Ismael married a woman from Jurhum and had 12 children known


as Banu Ismael. And one of their descendant is Adnan. So Arabs
who trace their lineage back to Adnan are called Adnani Arabs

Building of Kabah
On Allah’s command Ibrahim built the Kabah with Ismael and made dua.

ُّ َ ُّ ِ َ َ َ ِ ۡ ِ َ ُّ َ َ َ َ ِ ُّ ُّ ُّ َ ُّ َ َ َ َ ۡ ِ ۡ َ ۡ َ ۡ ُّ ۡ َ ُّ َ ۡ ِ
And when Abraham was raising the foundations of the House and [with him] Ishmael,
[saying], “O’ Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the all Hearing, the all
Knowing. O’ Our Lord, and make us Muslims to You and from our descendants a Muslim
nation to You. And show us our ways of worship and accept our repentance. Indeed, You
are the greatest Acceptor of repentance, the most Merciful. O’ Our Lord, and send among
them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them
the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the all Wise."
Call People to Hajj

After building the Kabah, Allah S.W.T ordered Ibrahim AS to call


people to Hajj. Ibrahim was surprised because nobody was
there so who would come. And Allah mentioned this in Quran.

‫ۡي ِم ۡن ك ُّ ِ َل فَ ٍ َج َع ِم ۡي ٍق‬
َ ۡ ‫اس ِبا لۡ َح ِ َج َياۡ ُّت ۡو َك ِر َجال ََو َعٰل ك ُّ ِ َل َضا ِم ٍر ََياۡ ِت‬
ِ ‫َوا َ ِذَ ۡن ِِف ال ََن‬
And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and
on every lean camel; they will come from every distant hilly pathway.

And Allah S.W.T made this fact come true and we see ppl go to
Hajj from every corner of the world

Sacrificing Ismael

Allah S.W.T tested Ibrahim AS by commanding him to


sacrifice his son. Both Ibrahim and Ismael were about
to do, but then Allah S.W.T replaced him with a ram.
Idol Worshipping Starts

A descendant of Adnan, Amar Bin Lui introduced


idol worship in Makkah
after a few centuries

Kilab ‫( ِكالب‬One who hunts with dogs)

Kilabs real name was Hakim because


he had a passion for hunting with
dogs (called Kilab in Arabic)

Qusay ‫صى‬
• Qusay’s real name was Zaid. After his father’s death he lived with
his mother near Syria and returned to Makkah during his youth.
• He took the trusteeship of the Kabah. He established the system
to host pilgrims.

Qusay ‫صى‬

• He built Darr unnadwa near Kabah, which


was used for tribal parliament
• Brought unity and power to Arabs, so
Quraish became the most respected tribe
• He was obeyed and respected by his tribe
Hashim ‫( َها ِشم‬one who mashes)

Hashim mashed bread in


meat and soup to give to
pilgrims.
Hashim arranged
trade journeys for his
tribe Quraysh to Yemen &
Syria and obtained security in both
countries
Abdul Muttalib ‫ع ْبدال ُمط ِلب‬
َ (Shaiba)

His father Hashim, once went on a trade journey and passed by


Madinah and married there. He left for Syria and passed away.
His wife gave birth to a son named Shaiba.

Hashims brother Muttalib found out about his dead


brothers' son and decided to bring him to Makkah.
This way, Shaiba came to Makkah and known as Abdul
Muttalib(grandfather of the Prophet‫)ﷺ‬
Abdul Muttalib ‫ع ْبدال ُمط ِلب‬
َ (Shaiba)

He was a chief of the Quraysh and


He also had the honour of was famous for his generosity. He
rediscovering the gave food to the needy, birds &
sacred well of Zam Zam animals.

Abdul Muttalib’s son Abdullah also called “Zabihah”


the sacrificed, in reference to the rediscovery of the
well of Zam Zam.

Abdul Muttalib vowed to Allah that if he could uncover


the well he would sacrifice one of his sons. Abdullah
was chosen for the sacrifice in a draw. But later 100
camels were sacrificed instead in his place.
Two Sacrificed Ones

Prophet S.A.W is called the descendant of 2 sacrificed ones.

1. Ismael AS ransomed for a ram


2. His father, Abdullah, for 100
camels
