You will need:
• Foam board/ cardboard
• A ruler
• A knife
• A pencil (if you are using black foam board like me you will need to use
something that shows up, a white pencil crayon or chalk works best)
• A tape measure
• Glue (hot glue works well because when it hardens it adds more stability)
• Black and turquoise paint (if you use black foam board you won’t need the
black paint)
• Paint brush
• Cutting surface
1. First, stand your model up and measure the distance from the floor to
the inside of her hair-hand, in between the thumb and first finger. You will
probably have to tweak the length a bit once you’ve got it cut, just so her
hand rests nicely on the top. Then figure out how wide you want the
stand to be. Remember you will be cutting out pieces so the width you
choose will be the widest part of the back.

2. Next measure out the piece on your board and mark it with a pencil.
Mine ended up being 21” x 18”.

3. Now cut out your piece.

4. Next you’ll need to cut out some “feet” for the back so the stand stands
up. I just split the extra side piece in 3 so the pieces ended up being
about 7.5” x 14”. Once you figure out the size you want, measure it out
and mark it on your board, then cut the pieces out.
5. Now you’ll want to draw out the design of the warp portal. You might
want to use some image references to help you. Make sure you have a
decent size piece at the top that the hair-hand will be able to rest on, you
will also want to keep the bottom quite large for support. Once your
happy with the design, cut it out.

6. Now the fun part! Paint your Twili design onto the warp portal. You might
want to mark out where you want some of the lines to go, again a
reference image is helpful. Once the paint is dry you might want to
sharpen up some of the lines with black paint or a black marker.
7. Lastly, glue the feet to the back of the warp portal. I cut the third foot and
glued it in between the other two for added support.
