CREATIVE CAREERS (DESCRIBING A PROCESS IN PASSIVE VOICE)

The purpose of this topic is to describe any process about how something is made by using passive voice with
two different grammatical structures:

1. Subject + is/are + past participle verb

2. Subject + modal verb + be + past participle verb

To make some examples try to think in the process that you follow for a practice in your laboratory classes, the
process to prepare a presentation for an audience, the process to cook something, etc.

In this case imagine that you want to celebrate your birthday by making a party so here I give you some examples
on how to describe this process by using the two structures above in passive voice, where the action or object is
the important thing:

How to plan a party?

First, a date for the party is set
Then, a place must be chosen
Later, people are invited
Next, a DJ can be hired or a playlist can be created
The place for the party is decorated
The food has to be prepared or bought
The guests can be asked to bring their drinks
Tables and chairs are rented
Finally, the party is started!

Notice the use of the two structures in this process. You can use them both, just make sure to use them correctly.
Remember that there are many different modal verbs if you want to use them.

above.

First, sandwich bread must be heated
