10. Biosketch (150 Words max.) Short Bio Sketch:

Dr. Pratap G. Sonavane (WCE Staff Id: 223) Professor in Civil Engineering; is currently
working as I/c. Director (since February 2019). He started his career as a lecturer in the
Department of Civil engineering in August 1991 after working as Project Engineer in private
firm. Since then he has imparted his remarkable duties as maintenance incharge, Dean
Planning, HoD and also Deputy Director. After his Ph.D. from Shivaji University, Kolhapur
(MH), in July 2008 his research concentrated on the low cost decentralized wastewater
treatments systems. As an outcome he has 51 publications, a patent in the area of wastewater
treatment and many expert talks at institutes including IIT, Powai. He has been a reviewer to
IUCEE Virtual Academy and chaired many technical sessions. He is recipient to MPCB,
DST and AICTE research grants. In addition to many workshops he was convener of
international conference organized in March 17. He has been an expert to ULB and various
government organizations. He is PG affiliated teacher and also a recognized guide in Civil
and Environmental Engineering.
