    Coal washing is a process of removing impurities from coal by taking advantage of the differences in physical properties of coal and impurities. During this process, coal is crushed, mixed with water and chemical reagents to form slurry. This slurry is then subjected to processes like froth flotation or dense medium separation to remove ash, sulfur and other contaminants from coal.
