Indo-Islamic mosque and a contemporary mosque with
illustrations.

Answer:-

I would like to present Delhi Jame Mosque as an example of an Indo

Islamic mosque & Bait Ur Rouf Mosque as a contemporary mosque.
Similarities between Indo-Islamic mosque and a contemporary mosque:
Indo-Islamic mosque and a contemporary mosque both have minbar
. They both have mihrab. Both of them have entrance hall .They both
have prayer hall .Both of them have abloution . Both of the example
has a pillared varanda.
These are the many similarities between the mosque from 2 different
era.
Dissimilarities between an Indo-Islamic mosque and a contemporary
mosque:

Pond for wadu at delhi jame mosque ablution in modern mosque central courtyard

Ornamentation in the indo Islamic mosque modern mosque has no ornamentation

Using if high minarets & domes not such use of domes & minarets
high domes with pillars around it. We can’t see high domes nowadays.
Indo- Islamic mosque had large open courtyards, and high minarets on
the other hand contemporary mosques using of high minarets are not
noticed. Mosques of the Indo- Islamic periods had a central courtyard
but there is no courtyard in the contemporary mosques. There had
sanctuary hall in the Indo- Islamic mosque but contemporary mosque
has no sanctuary hall. They used domes & arches in the Indo- Islamic
mosques but we can not notice that much of use of domes & arches in
the contemporary mosques.
3.Draw the perspective of “Firoz Shah Kotla.” How
would you like to evaluate that ‘Firozabad’ became the
prototype of the great Mughal palace cities of the
sixteenth century?

Answer:
The PALACE city of FIRUZABAD is known as the most significant city of
Tughlaqs. It is the 5th city of Delhi. This city was so well designed so that

it became the prototype city of the 16th century. This city had so many
important features which made it the prototype city of the 16th century.
The reasons why I think it became the protype of the great Mughal
palace cities of the sixteenth century are given below:
Firoj Shah wanted to make a city which is a citadel & a attached walled
city. It had a irregularly rectangular plan.IT had an entrance from the
west side. The royal palace & other important offices were stood near
the river. The city was divided into 2 zones. the public & private zones
were divided into 2 rectangles. Another important feature of tis city
was it had multiple axis. The north south axis is the longest axis & the
east west is the shorter one. This city had a fortified gateway to be safe
from any attack from the enemies. It had thick walls to be fortified. It
had some other important features like the public hall DIWAN-I-AM
& the private hall DIWAN-I-KHAS,JAMI MASJID,ROYAL
PALACES,SQUARES.
These elements were very important for the 16th century
Mughal palace cities. All the Mughal cities followed Firuzabad
as the prototype.
